Not long after his first word was uttered, Marcus was singing and rocking along to the music of Jimmy Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Guns’ N’ Roses, Fleetwood Mac, and whatever else was in his parents' record collection.

A graduate of The Conservatory of Music at Purchase College with a concentration in Studio Composition, Marcus has always had an engaged and studious approach to music of all styles ranging from blues, classical, pop and rock. He brings the same level of dedication and enthusiasm to his teaching.

Right out of college Marcus toured up and down the east coast with his band The Crazy 88’s, as well as performed regularly in the New York area. He has performed at iconic venues such as The Bitter End, The Red Lion, Nassau Coliseum and CBGBs before they closed.

He loves bringing his experience on the stage to the hearts and minds of children. In addition to sharing his passion and skills with kids, Marcus is the owner of a high profile wedding/corporate band, The Marcus Reid Band.
